Dancing
At the Ball, most dances will be very briefly walked through to remind dancers of the patterns. Prompting will be minimal. Several dances will not be taught at all (see notations in your Ball Booklet). We encourage you to familiarize yourself with the dances on the program.
We encourage you to attend local English Country Dances in your communities and ask dance leaders to include the ball dances in the regular evening dance programs.
Volunteering
We would love to have your help with the many small and easy tasks required to make this ball a success, such as providing housing for out-of-town guests, helping set up the hall, packing things away after the Ball, or helping at the Sunday brunch. Please contact Chris Mullooly to ask how you can help.
Portland Area Ball Workshops
In the Portland area, there will be three pre-Ball workshops:

Hospitality
If you indicated that you need or can provide housing, we will contact you before the Ball (don't worry if you don't hear anything until a week or two before the Ball). If you have changed your mind since you registered and can now either provide overnight hospitality for out-of-town dancers or if you need overnight hospitality, email Mary Devlin.
